담임목사
한국 서울에서 태어나 13세에 로스앤젤레스로 이주했습니다.옥시덴탈 칼리지에서 수학 학사(B.A.) 및 석사(MAT) 학위를 받았습니다. 하나님의 부르심을 받아 전임 사역을 시작하기 전까지 3년간 고등학교 수학 교사로 일했습니다. 프린스턴 신학대학원(2007년 졸업)에서 목회학 석사(M.Div)와 기독교 교육학 석사(MA) 학위를 받았으며, 2008년 미국 장로교(PCUSA)에서 목사 안수를 받았습니다. 2004년부터 2012년까지 뉴저지 주 서머셋에 있는 프레이즈 장로교회에서 아동부, 청소년부, 영어 예배부 목사로 섬겼고,
2012년부터 2024년까지 트루 라이트 교회에서 영어 예배부 목사이자 담임 목사로 섬겼습니다.
하나님께서는 이 땅에 하느님의 나라를 더욱 확장하기 위해 초교파 새로운 교회를 개척하도록 부르셨습니다.
신학대학원 시절 고아와 빈곤층 아동들을 섬기라는 특별한 부르심을 받았습니다. 2008년 동명 아동복지원 첫 방문은 고아 사역에
대한 열정에 불을 붙였고, 2012년 4월 세 명의 창립 이사들과 함께 야나 미니스트리를 설립했습니다.
주된 목표는 여러 실질적인 방법으로 고아들에게 '당신은 혼자가 아닙니다'라는 메시지가 되는 것입니다.
'하나님 아버지 앞에서 정결하고 흠 없는 경건은 곧 고아와 과부를 그 환난 중에 돌보고 또 자기를 세속에 물들지 아니하게 지키는 이것이니라'(야고보서 1장 27절)라고 진실로 믿습니다.
Born in Seoul Korea, he moved to L.A. at the age of 13.
He earned a B.A. and MAT in Math at Occidental College. He worked 3 years as a high school Math teacher until God called him to full-time ministry. He received his M.Div and MA in Christian Education at Princeton Theological Seminary (class of 2007) after which he was ordained in 2008 under PCUSA. He served at Praise Presbyteryain Church in Somerset NJ from 2004~12 as Children, Youth, and English Ministry pastor, 2012-24 as English Ministry Pastor and Senior Pastor at True Light Church.
Currently, God has called him to plant a non-denominational new church to further extend God's kingdom here on earth. He received a special calling to serve the orphans and children in poverty during his seminary years. His first visit to Dongmyung children’s home in 2008 sparkled his passion for an orphan ministry and he founded Yana Ministry in April 2012 with three other founding board members.
His main goal is to be the message “You Are Not Alone” to orphans in many tangible ways. He truly believes that “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being” (James 1:27).
