서울에서 태어나 13세에 로스앤젤레스로 이주했습니다. 옥시덴탈 칼리지에서 수학 학사와 석사(MAT) 학위를 받고 3년간 고등학교 수학 교사로 재직하던 중 하나님의 부르심을 받아 전임 사역의 길로 들어섰습니다.

이후 프린스턴 신학대학원에서 목회학 석사(M.Div)와 기독교 교육학 석사(MA)를 취득하고, 2008년 미국 장로교(PCUSA)에서 목사 안수를 받았습니다.

2004년부터 2012년까지 뉴저지 프레이즈 장로교회에서 아동부, 청소년부, 영어 예배부 사역을 담당했으며,

2012년부터 2024년까지 트루 라이트 교회에서 영어 예배부 목사와 담임 목사로 섬겼습니다.

현재 하나님께서 주신 새로운 부르심에 따라 초교파 교회를 개척하여 하나님의 나라를 확장하는 사역을 감당하고 있습니다.

신학대학원 시절부터 고아와 빈곤 아동들을 향한 특별한 소명을 품고, 2012년 야나 미니스트리(YANA Ministry)를 세워 “당신은 혼자가 아닙니다”라는 복음의 메시지를 다양한 실질적 사역을 통해 전하고 있습니다.

 

그는 야고보서 1장 27절의 말씀처럼 고아와 과부를 돌보는 것이 하나님 앞에서의 참된 경건이라 믿습니다.

Born in Seoul, Korea, he moved to Los Angeles at the age of 13. He earned his B.A. and M.A.T. in Mathematics from Occidental College and worked as a high school Math teacher for three years before responding to God’s call to full-time ministry. He received his M.Div. and M.A. in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary and was ordained in 2008 under the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

From 2004 to 2012, he served at Praise Presbyterian Church in New Jersey as Pastor of Children’s, Youth, and English Ministries. From 2012 to 2024, he ministered at True Light Church as English Ministry Pastor and later as Senior Pastor. Currently, he is following God’s call to plant a new non-denominational church dedicated to expanding God’s kingdom on earth.

During his seminary years, he received a special calling to serve orphans and children in poverty. In 2012, he founded YANA Ministry (“You Are Not Alone”) with the mission of sharing God’s love in tangible and practical ways.

 

He firmly believes that “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being” (James 1:27).
